As expected, the Senate voted yesterday to confirm John Hoffman, Governor Murphy’s nominee to fill the seat vacated by Justice Solomon due to his mandatory retirement, to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. The vote was unanimous. As was true of the Judiciary Committee hearing on his nomination, Justice Hoffman received praise from both sides of the aisle.
This was Governor Murphy’s fifth Supreme Court nominee to be confirmed. Once Justice Hoffman is sworn in, the Court will be back at full strength. Welcome, Justice Hoffman!
